Financial Controller

We are looking for a skilled financial controller who will have an outstanding opportunity to apply their expertise in a dynamic and growing corporation, within an aviation industry that is constantly evolving. Our goal and ambition are to be the preferred provider for helicopter operators in the Nordic region. You will become a central resource in strengthening the corporation's finance function.

In this role, you will report to the company's CFO and work closely with the finance team and the individuals responsible for results within the corporation.

Key tasks:

Your role will encompass end-to-end financial responsibility. This involves ongoing bookkeeping and periodic reporting, payroll processing with associated reporting, preparation of annual financial statements, tax returns, and tax declarations. Furthermore, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting periodic reconciliations and checks of income statements and balance sheets.

  • Controlling, reconciling, and reporting VAT.

  • Continuously developing and enhancing internal routines, processes, and systems, including the selection and implementation of a new accounting system.

  • Ad hoc tasks and projects.

  • Collaborating with HR on employee-related tasks and acting as a sparring partner for the CFO.

Desired qualifications:

To succeed in the position, you should have a higher education in economics. To be able to fulfill an important role and significant responsibilities, we are looking for someone with experience in accounting or controlling, preferably with 3-5 years of experience. Furthermore, we are seeking someone who has:

  • Solid accounting and business understanding.

  • Preferably a certified public accountant (CPA).

  • Familiarity with Visma Global/Business/Lønn is an advantage but not a requirement.

  • Good oral and written communication skills in Norwegian and English.

You will be a crucial driving force for continuous development in the field, which is why qualities like independence and a sense of responsibility are highly valued by us. If you also have an eye for detail and a structured work methodology, you might be the right candidate for the position. Lastly, we are seeking someone with strong analytical skills and a strong commitment to achieving high quality in your role.

The position will be based at the company's offices in Tullins gate 2, Oslo, with some travel involved, including to the corporation's facilities at Eggemoen/Hønefoss.

The company is a distributor for Airbus Helicopters and Safran Helicopter Engines, providing new helicopter sales, leasing and financing solutions, as well as assisting in the purchase and sale of used helicopters, supplying new and overhauled spare parts and components, repaired or exchange solutions, technical support, and CAMO services. In other words, Østnes Helicopters is a One Stop Shop for Nordic helicopter operators. Currently, we have a total of 35 employees primarily based at the technical facility in Eggemoen and the headquarters in Oslo.
